In the late 60's I was involved with The Crusaders Band who later went on to become Triads Flute, with people like Roger Sheard, Manuel Marques, Costa Constantinou and later Jim Facey who was in a band with Pete Tyler, Nicks brother

We would sometimes play on stage at The 20th Century Cinema as an ice breaker for a film. At the time the cinema was run by Mike Faddy and later Trevor Dalton.

On one occasion we played before "Rasputin the Mad Monk" but the one I remember most vividly, although in fact I don't remember, was the time I was carried on stage in a coffin, out of which I was supposed to rise, at the appropriate moment, singing " Monster Mash" and surrounded by ghostly vapours ! As we we were somewhat inexperianced in theatrical lights and sound, it was decided that I would have a CO2 Fire Exstiguisher in the coffin with me which I would 'vent" as I arose from the coffin. I got as far as "I was working in my lab late one night and my eyes beheld an earie sight ...." before I passed out, trapped in the coffin which I had been unable to open after I squeezed the trigger. Needless to say the band ignored me until someone thought they best check on me.I dont remember being pulled from the coffin but did gain a minor celebrity status for a very brief moment with the headline in a local newspaper the next day  read " Local Band Manager cheats Death !" or words to that effect !
