"Remnants of Empire: Memory and the Northern Rhodesian Diaspora" by Pamela Shurmer-Smith (i.e. me!) is a book based on research carried out over 5 years tracing people who had lived in Zambia before Independence but are now scattered around the globe. It looks at arrival stories, accounts of living there, the decision to leave and what people made of their lives afterwards. I do give my family a mention, but it is very definitely NOT my autobiography.
